One particular kind of online scam commonly known as ‘phishing’ poses a great risk to the security of interactions between businesses, governments, and individuals in cyberspace. Phishing attacks have amounted to great economic loss. This study, therefore, aims to support phishing prevention efforts of organisations through the adoption of an organizational-level phishing prevention process. This research aims to contribute to cyber security in general and to phishing prevention in particular by providing a general process model and related guidelines, to guide cyber security professionals in the design and implementation of a phishing prevention process, adapted to the needs of the organisation and taking into account the existing strategic, tactical and operational processes within an organisation.
